Members from The Sims 3 and EA forums have stated that when pre-ordering Ambitions from GAME, they were asked if they would like to pre-order The Sims 3: After Dark as well. Originally it was listed with a release date of 4th of June (the same date as Ambitions), but a member of The Sims 3 Forums called up to find out about the game, and was told it was listed down with a release date of 1st November.
Now, although it is a rumour, the November 1st release date is highly creditable as World Adventures was released in November last year, and Expansion Packs are released more or less every half year with a couple of weeks difference give or take. The title "After Dark" highly compares to the title of the second expansion pack for The Sims 2, "Nightlife", which dealt with activities Sims could do in the night (and therefore after dark), such as Nightclubs, Restuarants, Bowling, Vampires, etc. And given the popularity of both Nightlife for The Sims 2 and Hot Date for The Sims, it is very likely we might see a remake of these expansions for The Sims 3, as if you think about it, we actually don't have a dating system/game in The Sims 3 (like we did in Nightlife), or activities such as restaurants, nightclubs, bowling, etc. which were included in Nightlife, and some in Hot Date. Also, both the Sims 1 and Sims 2's version of the Expansion Pack, were both one of the earlier expansion packs released for their game, so After Dark, if true, would be following suit.
Yes, it's still a rumour, but I think it's a creditable one at that, and one which could possibly turn out to be the next Expansion Pack.
